Where History and Hospitality Meet
Danes Hall of Waupaca is a historic event venue located in the heart of Wisconsin. Built in 1894, by the Danish immigrants who came to this central Wisconsin community, Danes Hall has been a place of culture and celebration for more than six generations. Anchored into the granite ledge at the north end of Waupaca's Main Street, Danes Hall has rooms on three levels, which bring the unique experience of Danes Hall to life.
Danes Hall has modern restrooms, a private dressing room, a coat room, and an elevator that reaches three levels to accommodate guests with mobility challenges. All areas of the building have wifi access, and live streaming is available to broadcast your special event.
The Grand Ballroom - Located on the upper level of Danes Hall, the Grand Ballroom brings elegance and charm to every event. The ballroom can comfortably seat 150 guests for a sit-down dinner on the main level and up to 200 people theater-style for wedding ceremonies, live performances, lectures, and educational programs. The balcony which surrounds the ballroom's main floor is the perfect place for photographers to capture the memory of your special event.
The elegance of the ballroom is enhanced with its wooded Chiavari chairs and fine linens. The ballroom's historic Steinway Grand Piano dates to 1896 and brings the acoustically perfect ballroom to life.
The Clock Room and Kitchenette - The mid-level of Danes Hall offers an elegant space to comfortably host smaller groups for showers, team meetings, and lectures. Beautifully decorated with historic furniture, a 19th century grand piano, and original artwork from Denmark, the "Clock Room" can comfortably seat up to 40 people for a sit down dinner and up to 50 people theater-style.
The attached kitchenette (originally the library) is ideal for buffets and desserts for your guests to enjoy.
This level also has a separate private dressing room which is available for pre-wedding bridal party preparations.
The Granite Cellar - The lower level of Danes Hall is the historic Granite Cellar. The beautiful wood bar and granite stone walls provide a truly unique space for social events of up to 40 people. The Granite Cellar can also be used as a gathering space for your guests to congregate before and after a wedding ceremony, concert, or business event in the main ballroom
Nels Rasmussen Park - The adjacent stunning gardens of Nels Rasmussen Park are meticulously maintained by the Waupaca Garden Club. A favorite spot for wedding pictures and group shots, the gardens are the focal point of North Main Street.
